Mission: Elf began in October
When Facebook created a commercial to tell the MMN Mission Elf story, we were thrilled. When we realized it was actually FIVE commercials, we were stunned. Two ran on the internet only and three ran on TV, internet and other media outlets. While the platform commercials focused on the power of our group making things happen (in this case, Christmas for families separated by deployment), the TV commercials told the story of what it was like for the FAMILIES to receive. Of course, the commercial wove in the story of mamas creating the special moments, but everyone saw the end result! It was amazing to see a 30 second slice of time tell the story of what we do, so completely and so emotionally.
Enter Mission: Elf pop up shops
But Facebook wasn’t done yet…they worked with some amazing PR and production companies to invite the public in to the mission. We had pop up shops in NY, Chicago and California, with the commercials streaming and an immersive experience for shoppers. They stopped in, learned more about MMN, had a little hot chocolate while writing out gift and greeting tags, and donated to Mission: Elf
Not done yet!
Facebook provided support and supplies for 10 Elf workshops across the country…enabling us to reach more children than ever, with supplies we will be able to use and reuse for years to come. Special wrapping paper and ribbon created a cohesive set of wrapped gifts, and all those donations were put to use providing Christmas for 415+ children.
Take a peek at all that went into having Elf Workshops…and our amazing head elves in action!
Salute to our local chapters, some ambassador locations and teams who made Mission: Elf wrapping possible
Not all locations had pictures taken, but check out the ones who submitted pix for us to share! We had elves from coast to coast and top to bottom of our great country, all to make Christmas possible for kids most of us didn’t know.
We had an accumulated 250+ hours of wrapping alone
And then there was the packing, shipping and in some cases, personal delivery
And with that, we concluded Mission: Elf 2019
Stay tuned for personal stories from our Chapters and ambassadors….we are still catching up from the crazy ride that Fall, 2019 was for MMN.
