
About our Local Chapters
We are always happy to launch new local chapters. Our goal for local chapters is a gathering of mamas who connect over loving someone who serves or served, but become friends and even family by choice.
Our local chapter leaders are trained through our Leadership Academy, have been members for at least six months and volunteer their time.
Membership in local chapters is free. Always has been. Always will be.

About Cedar Rapids
April 2016 was the first chapter meeting in Iowa. Here are the plans for 2020
~Feb. 22rd- Van Meter- We will make blankets and hygiene kits. Jennifer Lohner to provide materials needed. I will get list of hygiene products needed. Place and time still TBD.
~March 21st- Volunteer at the Iowa State Veteran's home. We will meet at 9:30 for breakfast and plan on being at the home at 10:45am.
~April 18th- Hard Rock Cafe in Sioux City at noon- Joint meeting with Nebraska chapter
~May 2nd- Des Moines Airport for the Air Guard Family day.
~May 25th- Volunteer at the Gold Star Memorial day event. Early one 5am.
~June ??-
~July off- Unless someone has something fun to do!
~Aug 8th- In Des Moines We will gather up our Auction boxes as our fundraiser
~Sept. 26th- Harlen to visit the Veteran's museum. Time and place still TBD
~Oct. 17th- Cynthia to host in Cedar Rapids. She will find a place to volunteer at. Time and place still TBD.
~Nov. 14th- in Elkhart? packing holiday boxes to our chapter loved ones. Place and time still TBD.
~Dec. 19th- Wreaths Across America and Mission Elf. Judy Gardner and husband has offered their home for lunch and wrapping! They live close by and we will get to meet the huge gorillas in their yard!
About Joliet
Joliet is the first chapter formed for Military Mama Network. They represent towns incluidng Shorewood, Bolingbrook and the greater Joliet area.
They meet regularly at 7:00pm, the 3rd Thursday of each month at Marks on 59 in Shorewood.
Planned our first six months of the year and had diner together
Plans include helping the American Legion with their valentines dance

Pritzger museum in April
Cemetery clean up in May
Dinner and motorcycle ride planning in June
Cantigny WWI museum in July (concert possibility)
We discussed getting corporate sponsors and Debbie Muentnich-Hayes doing a motorcycle ride across country as well as placing fliers and collection cans in local gas stations
About Joplin
Joplin Chapter is off and running in 2020. They meet the third Sunday of every month at 3 pm. They meet at the leader's home. So please contact her if you are interested in attending!
February: Make Silver for Soldiers cans, to place around.
March: make up Easter boxes to send.
April: visit the Veteran's Memorial Museum in Branson.
May: place flags at Veteran's memorials.
June: Craft day.
August: SFRG Family Day, put into place our Hero's at Home plan in local schools-(still in planning stages)
September/October: planning a craft sale, with all proceeds to MMN.
August or October: work Charlie 22 Banquet.
November: Veteran's Day Parade.
We have also committed with Boxes of Love, to send at least one box a month, and pick up emergency boxes.
About Houston
The Houston chapter held their first meeting of 2019 in a member's home, live streaming to the rest of their online group. Due to the large area this chapter serves, meetings are not held in a single location. Instead, the group often meets in different members homes.
